Labor Day Events in Bedford County and Smith Mountain Lake

Are you a resident of Smith Mountain Lake or elsewhere in Bedford County, VA? Are you looking for some things that can help you to stay occupied and have some fun this Labor Day? Concert and Fireworks

On September 5 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the EastLake Community Church in Moneta, VA, you can enjoy a free community event with an outdoor concert followed by a fireworks show. This is a family-friendly event that will have activities for the kids, as well as food vendors.

Wine at the Lake

On Saturday, September 3, Labor Day weekend, Hickory Hill Vineyard will be holding an event. The vineyard is located at Smith Mountain Lake and will be a perfect event to attend if you enjoy wine. This is part of the Hickory Hill Vineyard’s Sunset Saturday music series. This has been a popular event that takes place on Saturdays at the lake.

You can bring some chairs or a blanket along with a picnic to the event. You can then enjoy some of the locally made wine. The vineyard even has picnics in a bag available if you don’t bring your own. Relax and enjoy some of the local artists’ music and watch the sunset. The general admission is $10, while kids 12 and under are free.

Street Fair and Ox Roast

From September 1 – 4, you can enjoy the 62nd Annual Shawnee Valley Volunteer Fire Co. Street Fair and Ox Roast. Some of the events include a parade, fireworks, activities, and a craft show. There will be music and food throughout the weekend.

Cumberland Valley Festival

The Cumberland Valley Labor Day Festival and Cruise In will be held on September 5, where you will get to enjoy live entertainment, food and craft vendors, a cruise in, a corn hole tournament, an auction, a bounce house for the kids, and fireworks when the sun goes down.
